Scout
and Girl Guide Financial
Sponsorship
Our local Scout & Guide
Groups are totally self-financing organisations with no government
financial support. It costs over £120,000 per annum to run
these local Scout
and Girl Guide Groups,
all of which has to be raised by our supporters, and the Barry Scout
& Guide Annual Fete is an important means part of this ongoing
task.
It costs almost
£10,000 to stage the Fete for Scouts
and Girl Guides,
and if the weather were to fail us, almost10% of the costs of running
our vital training programmes for Scouts
and Girl Guides throughout
the year could be lost. It is to cover this considerable risk that
we seek financial sponsorship.
If the weather is fine and we can attract our usual audience of
some 6,000 people, then this sponsorship money goes direct to the
Groups of Scouts
and Girl Guides.
For Scout
and Girl Guides Last
year, local businesses and organisations sponsorship amounted to
£7500. Once again we are requesting your generous support
for our Scout
and Girl Guides,
so that the full costs to stage the event are met by the organisers
and all the benefits can be passed on to the local Scout
and Girl Guides groups.
